oOh!media New Zealand has secured the Hamilton City Council contract and extended its partnership with Wellington City Council, providing long-term investment in public infrastructure and strengthening its street furniture network across New Zealand.
Under the agreements, oOh! will continue to manage and invest in high-quality street furniture infrastructure, including bus shelter refurbishment and digital upgrades that enhance the network for communities, councils and advertisers.
In Wellington, oOh! will deploy additional digital panels to meet existing and future demand and upgrade LCD panels to premium, high quality, sustainable LEDs. In Hamilton, all existing LCD panels will be upgraded to LED, delivering a more consistent and high-quality digital offering across the network.
The agreements build on oOh!’s Christchurch City Council contract secured earlier this year, further strengthening its connected national street furniture network. Together, the three markets contribute to oOh!’s broader national footprint, reaching 87 per cent of New Zealanders each month across street and retail in 17 regions³.
oOh!’s new LED screens will deliver significant sustainability benefits, with LED screens using around 60 per cent less energy than traditional LCD displays, requiring less maintenance and having a longer operational lifespan. This will help reduce waste, improve operational efficiency, and support council sustainability objectives.
The expanded network will give advertisers more opportunities to connect with Wellington audiences, with more than 19.1 per cent of commuters travelling to work by public transport, the highest proportion in New Zealand ¹. Hamilton is one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing cities, with an estimated population of 190,000².
oOh!media Head of NZ, Kelly Harvey, said: “Hamilton and Wellington are key markets for oOh! and brands. These agreements reflect the strength of the partnerships we have built with both councils and our shared commitment to delivering high-quality public infrastructure.
These long-term agreements allow us to continue to invest in premium street furniture and digital assets, and build a stronger, more connected network that delivers value for councils, communities and advertisers alike.”
As oOh! continues to invest in digital capability and network enhancement, these agreements position the business to deliver long-term value for council partners, advertisers and communities across New Zealand.
